    SUMMARY
    Uses Systems Thinking to lead, manage, and administer the operations and functions of Tucson Unified School District’s (TUSD) Pre-Schools, Elementary, and K-8 Schools. Promotes the success of each student by facilitating the stewardship of a 21st Century vision of learning that is supported and shared by the school community. Facilitates, serves, and supports the leadership development of Elementary and K-8 School Principals for service in a large, culturally and financially diverse school community.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction or related area
    AZ Administrative Certificate; e.g., Principal K-12 Certificate
    Current Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
    Three (3) years teaching experience in grades K - 8
    Three (3) years as either an elementary or K-8 School Principal
    One to three years in central office administration or similar administrative experience in an educational instituion
    Experience developing and managing budgets
    Experience facilitating the development and implementation of a strategic plan

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Arizona Superintendent's Certificate with Structured English Immersion (SEI) endorsement, or eligibility to obtain such certification
    Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration or Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction or related area
    Three (3) years in central office administration or similar administrative experience in an educational institution
    Experience as an assistant superintendent, associate superintendent, deputy superintendent or superintendent of schools
    Experience in a large, urban school district
    Experience in a diverse and multicultural environment
    Experience with Desegregation Orders and Unitary Status Planning and Implementation

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
    Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
