    This site is eligible for the Teacher Diversity Plan. The district is offering qualified applicants a $5,000 stipend. This stipend is a monetary incentive and may be used toward earning a master’s degree, pursuing National Board Certification, taking professional development courses or any other way the recipient may wish.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    Arizona Elementary Certificate with Spanish Bilingual OR
    Arizona Early Childhood Education Certificate (Birth through 3rd Grade) with Spanish Bilingual
    Must have Bilingual-Spanish Endorsement posted on teaching certificate
    Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
    Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
    Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
    Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

    1.0 FTE - 7.5 hours per day
    9.5 month position

    DUAL LANGUAGE INCENTIVE 2017-2018 SY
    Tucson Unified School District will pay a Dual-Language Recruitment and Retention Incentive Stipend of $5000 that will be available to new-to-the-District incoming certified teachers and to certified teachers who currently work for the District that meet the following criteria:
    · The teacher must work for the District full-time in a dual-language classroom
    · The teacher must have a Teaching Certificate with Spanish bilingual endorsement from the Arizona Department of Education
    The stipend will be prorated based on the FTE of the coursework. Qualified recipients who are working for the District at the end of the Fall Semester will receive $2500 at the first pay period in January 2018. Qualified recipients who are working for the District at the completion of their 2017-2018 contract will receive $2500 in the last paycheck for the 2017-2018 contract year.


    Temporary Contracts are issued after Labor Day and/or for vacancies of .6 FTE or less for the remainder of the school year only. Temporary Contracts may be eligible for conversion.

    Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
