Assists early childhood teachers in performing their classroom teaching responsibilities.
Speak, read and write in English.
One year of experience working with youth or children.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
AND Completion of an AZ Dept. of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test OR Associate’s (or higher) degree OR Two-years (60 Semester-Hour credits) of study at an institute of higher learning
Copy of diploma, transcripts or test results must be submitted upon hire
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Non-Certificated Programs DHS Childcare Employees & Volunteers Fingerprint Clearance (at employee’s expense)
OR Department of Health Services (DHS) Childcare Facility Licensure Fingerprint Clearance (at employee’s expense)
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening test, administered within 12 months before the start date; or if a candidate has had a positive test, a written statement signed and dated by a health care provider within six months before the start date stating candidate is free from infectious active tuberculosis. A negative tuberculosis screening test required is every 12 months of employment.
CPR and First Aid Certification. Certification must be maintained current during course of employment.
A minimum of six units of formal Early Childhood training classes required OR must be willing to enroll in courses.

$11.00 per hour
0.88 FTE - 7 hours per day
9 month position
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
