Supervises the Educational Interpreters AND Provisional Educational Interpreters. Facilitates student access to interpreter services and communication between deaf and hearing impaired students and their hearing peers, teachers and others through interpreting and transliterating – voice to sign and sign to voice. Interprets/transliterates for students in the classroom for classroom related activities. Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Certification.
Interpreter License, issued by the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ACDHH).
Five years of directly related interpreting/transliterating experience in a K-12 educational setting.
AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Three years of supervisory or coordinative experience.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education.
Previous experience interpreting for parents, families, and community agencies.
Licensed to interpret in adult settings as well as K-12 settings.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check (at employee’s expense).
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Valid AZ Driver's License required within 10 days of hire. Must not have accrued eight points against driver’s license within the past two years.
Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of auto insurance policy. Coverage must be valid throughout term of employment.

$50,624.91 Annual Salary
1.0 FTE - 8 hours per day - 12 month position
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
