    SUMMARY
    Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    Arizona Teaching Certificate
    CTE certification in EDUCATION AND TRAINING or FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES
    Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    SITE PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
    This position requires the teacher to focus both on Early Childhood Education classes and nursery lab experiences working with teen parents to develop best practices in parenting, as well as preparing for potential entry level positions in early childhood education settings. In addition to having CTE certification in EDUCATION AND TRAINING or FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES (with multiple courses and experience in teaching Early Childhood Education) and meeting the requirements listed by TUSD, applicants must:

    Have experience in working with children ages 0 to 5 years old;
    Have up-to-date working knowledge of child development for children ages 0 to 5 years old;
    Have up-to-date working knowledge of teen, infant, and toddler health and nutrition;
    Have work experience and physical ability to design and teach hands-on lab lessons with teen parents in TAP nurseries;
    Have the experience and ability to organize and collaborate with outside professionals to provide hands on experiences for teen parents and their children;
    Be willing to collaborate with professionals to offer instruction and information about birthing; and
    Facilitate and serve as advisor for FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America), a student club focused on developing student leadership, collaboration, career and presentation skills.

    Teachers who have served in Early Childhood Education Classrooms who are interested in working to develop teen parents’ understanding and implementation of best practices in parenting and working with infants and toddlers should consider applying for this position.     ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
    Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

    1.0 FTE - 7.5 hours per day
    9.5 months

    Temporary Contracts are issued after Labor Day and/or for vacancies of .6 FTE or less for the remainder of the school year only. Temporary Contracts may be eligible for conversion.

    Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
