      SUMMARY
    The Verizon Innovative Learning Schools (VILs) instructional coach is a full-time position focused on providing teachers with the pedagogical support to effectively leverage technology in the classroom. The coach challenges teachers and leaders to fulfill their vision, and advocates to improve student achievement by engaging students in the learning process, personalizing learning, etc. The coach works to ensure that all the teachers have the opportunity to become proficient in leveraging technology in the classroom to access deeper learning through rigorous and relevant lessons.

    In addition, to building capacity within professional learning communities, the coach creates and leads a culture of teacher leaders who are comfortable with using data for continuous improvement, collaboration, and facilitating professional learning. Lastly, the coach helps to expose students to compelling careers and the technology skills necessary to be successful in those careers.

    This position is partially grant funded. Will be required to attend training outside of contract days.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
    Two years of teaching experience, utilzing technology in instruction.
    Experience providing professional development to adults and with the instructional strategies identified in SIOP and Skillful Teacher.
    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
    Valid Arizona Teacher Certification.
    Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Master’s Degree in Educational Technology, Educational Leadership or content and/or experience in field.
    Three(3) years of instructional coaching (preferred)

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
    Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

    LOCATION - Pueblo Gardens K-8 - 33rd Street & Campbell Area
    1.0 FTE - 7.5 hours per day
    9.5 month position
    2 year position ending May 2021


    Temporary Contracts are issued after Labor Day and/or for vacancies of .6 FTE or less for the remainder of the school year only. Temporary Contracts may be eligible for conversion.

    Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
