Job Description

SUMMARY
Works collaboratively with Tucson Unified School District teachers, administrators and child study teams in behavior modification programs for students. This position serves at multiple sites within the department's before and after school programs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education or related area.
Two years of experience working with culturally diverse students.
Experience designing behavioral modification plans.
Demonstrated experience with children who have been identified as having behavioral difficulties.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education.

Must have reliable transportation.

Valid Driver’s License

MVReport - showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.

Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with students birth to 5 years of age.

Experience as a member of a child study team.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (at employee's expense and must obtain prior to beginning employment)
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization. (Must submit proof of vaccination or immunity prior to beginning employment.)

Documentation of negative tuberculosis (TB) screening test, administered within 12 months of start date; or if a candidate has had a positive test, a written statement signed and dated by a health care provider within six months before the start date stating candidate is free from infectious active tuberculosis. (Must obtain prior to beginning employment and entering classroom.)

CPR and First Aid Certification (required within 60 days of hire). Certification must be maintained current during course of employment.

Complete, at no cost to the employee, 12 hours of the Department of Economic Services (DES) health and safety classes (required within 60 days of hire)

Complete and maintain 18 hours of required state trainings per year

FTE: 1.0 - 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month

This position will office between Brichta and Schumaker Infant & Early Learning Centers and will require driving to different sites within our department.

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
