Job Description


The Grounds Equipment Operator position will operate heavy equipment, including but not limited to: Back Hoe, Front End Loader, Dump Truck, pulling trailers, Bucket Truck, Big Brush Hog Lawnmower, and Trash Compactor Truck. Assists with the preparation of grounds in conjunction with landscape repairs and improvements on playgrounds, athletic fields, and parking lots. Prunes, trims and/or removes trees and brush.

Three years experience operating a variety of industrial equipment
Equivalent trade school training.
Valid Class B CDL, with the requirement of getting their Class A CDL with air brake endorsement within 6 months.
Mechanical skills or experience.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education.

FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Must hold a current Arizona Driver’s license and have accrued no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
Post-offer/pre-employment lift test.
ADOT (Arizona Dept. of Transportation) Medical Certificate required after hire.

Location: Operations - Broadway & Kino Parkway Area
Classification: Blue Collar

FTE: 1.0 - 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
