Career and Technical Education Academic Support Specialist (Effective 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR)
Job Description
SUMMARY
This position provides district level support under the direction of the Career & Technical Education Team. This position will work in multiple capacities to support district initiatives in the areas of teacher development, cross-content development, and instructional support for teachers to meet district instructional goals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Equivalent
Arizona CTE Teachers Certification with Structured English Emersion (SEI)
Arizona IVP fingerprint Clearance Card
Seven (7) Years of CTE teaching experience
Three (3) years’ experience working with at risk populations
Experience working with adult learners
Knowledge and/or experience as a trainer in the Essential Elements of Instruction, or willingness to complete this requirement in one year
Knowledge of and/or experience with Career and Technical Education State Standards, Technical Skill Assessments, and program industry certifications
Knowledge of and/or experience with Cognitive Coaching or a willingness to complete this requirement in one year
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written, graphic, and oral instruction
Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, to include evenings and weekends
Any equivalent combination of experience, training or education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, CTE Administration, a CTE Content Area, or Equivalent
Three years’ experience working in the Tucson Unified School District
Knowledge, experience, or training in a coaching framework or methodology
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Valid Driver’s License
MVReport - showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees
