Job Description

SUMMARY

The Community Education Activity Helper is responsible for the planning and implementation of daily activities and lessons. Staff is responsible for the supervision and safety of all children assigned to their care and for facilitating communication between staff members assigned to their team. Depending on department needs and program staffing, must be willing to be temporarily reassigned to another school as necessary. Staff may have to travel to various sites depending on student and staff ratios.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 18 years of age

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Must have reliable mode of transportation

Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Six (6) months of childcare experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Bloodborne Pathogen training offered by TUSD Risk Management Department.

Documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening test, administered within 12 months before the start date; or if a candidate has had a positive test, a written statement signed and dated by a health care provider within six months before the start date stating candidate is free from infectious active tuberculosis. A negative tuberculosis screening test is required every 12 months of employment.

CPR and First Aid Certification (required within 90 days of hire at employee's expense). Certification must be maintained current during course of employment.

12 hours of the Department of Economic Services (DES) health and safety classes (required within 60 days of hire - at no cost to employee.

Location: Multiple Locations - District-Wide

Site Assignments -

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
