SUMMARYImplement the American School Counselor Association National Model (ASCA). As a member of the School Counseling staff, the counselor is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program for all students at the site, which aligns with the district and school’s mission to promote academic, social/emotional, and college/career development, while ensuring equity and access for all students.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMasters degree in School Guidance and Counseling or a related field.
Arizona School Counselor Certificate.
Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Arizona Teacher’s Certification.
Three years experience as a Teacher.
Three years experience as a School Counselor.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Must hold a current Driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance coverage greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
Effective 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR
LOCATION - Tucson Magnet HS - 6th St. & Euclid Area
1.0 FTE - 7.50 hours per day
9.5 month position
Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
The hiring range for external candidates will be $38,400.00 to $45,900.00, based on experience.

Temporary Contracts are issued after Labor Day and/or for vacancies of .6 FTE or less for the remainder of the school year only. Temporary Contracts may be eligible for conversion.
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
