Curator Assistant (Effective 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR)

SUMMARY

Assists with overseeing artifact collections that include collecting, preserving, maintaining, exhibiting, researching, and providing information of historical and artistic significance. Catalogs and makes available for reference documents of all art pieces and other artifacts in the collection. Handles, mounts, store, and exhibits art ofjects and other artifacts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art History, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, or related field.

OR

Four years of curatorial/museum, or related experience, which includes one year of exhibit design and construction experience.

Knowledge and ability to use word processing, database and spreadsheet programs.

Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

Any combination of experience, training, or education.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

FBI fingerprint background check.

Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Location: Tucson High Magnet School - 6th St. & Euclid Area
FTE : 0.5 - 4 hours per day
Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
