Job Description

SUMMARY

Performs evaluative/diagnostic duties of students referred for evaluation of suspected educational disabilities. Assists with the development of educational plans to meet the specific needs of students who would qualify for special education services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Master's degree in special education or related field

Arizona Special Education Certification

Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card

Experience in psycho-educational assessment

OR

Recent (1 - 5 years) diagnostic test administration experience aimed at determining special education eligibility in public school setting.

Any equivalent combination of experience, training or education.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement

Experience as a bilingual evaluator

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Must hold a current Driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance coverage greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.

Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of auto insurance policy. Coverage must be valid throughout term of employment.

FTE : 1.0 - 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

New Teachers to the District may be eligible for a one-time recruitment stipend (up to $5,000) if hired into one of the following positions: Ex Ed, Math, Science.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
