    REPORTS TO Executive Director of Financial Services


    SUMMARY
    This position reports to the Executive Director of Finance and plays a key role in the daily operations of the Financial Services Department, with strong emphasis on budget development processes, and long and short range planning. The Director will manage and oversee budgeting, payroll and benefits functions, to include researching and collaborating with employee groups and determining best practices. The Director will carry out budget development and budget oversight, to include developing, analyzing, and providing assistance and making recommendations to ensure compliance with the adopted process. This position will assist with managing the business, financial and administrative functions within the department, and supervision of all finance staff.


    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Business Administration or related field
    and
    Six (6) years of professional experience in budgeting, finance or research, including two years of project or team leadership experience
    Advanced Database/Spreadsheet Program Experience
    Five (5) Years Supervisory Experience
    Knowledge of Uniform System of Financial Records (USFR) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Accounting Standards (GAGAS) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
    Knowledge of budgeting practices and procedures
    Knowledge and ability to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) accounting systems


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)
    Five years of school district financial, accounting, or management information systems experience
    Certified Public Accountancy (CPA)
    Local government budget experience

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
    FBI fingerprint background check (at employee’s expense).
    Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

    Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
    The hiring range for external candidates will be $80,856.00 to $93,871.31, based on experience.
