Director - School Safety and Security
Coordinates, directs, and advises district staff in the area of school safety. Ensures that schools, buildings, and staff are as safe and secure as possible. Coordinates and supervises investigations of alleged violations of board policies by students, staff, and others.
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Education, Public Administration, or related field
Eight years of law enforcement, juvenile justice, or administration of security and safety for a large organization or institution
Experience in strategic and emergency planning
Experience in civil, criminal and/or employment investigations required.
Any equivalent combination of experience and education that would meet the minimum requirements
Experience in providing safety or security management in an educational setting
Supervision of civil, criminal, and/or employment investigations
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check (at employee’s expense)
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
Must submit to a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol screen
Post-offer/pre-employment lift test
Effective: 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR
LOCATION: School Safety & Security - 606 S. Plumer
FTE : 1.0 - 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month
