Early Childhood Teacher Assistant - PEEPS (Open-Until Filled)
Job Description
SUMMARY
Assists early childhood teachers in performing their classroom teaching responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Speak, read and write in English.
One year of experience working with youth or children.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
AZ Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Associate’s (or higher) degree OR
60 Semester-Hour credits from an accredited institution OR
AZ Dept. of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test.
Copy of diploma, transcripts or test results must be submitted upon hire
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening test, administered within 12 months before the start date; or if a candidate has had a positive test, a written statement signed and dated by a health care provider within six months before the start date stating candidate is free from infectious active tuberculosis. A negative tuberculosis screening test is required every 12 months of employment.
CPR and First Aid Certification (required within 90 days of hire at employee's expense). Certification must be maintained current during course of employment.
A minimum of six units of formal Early Childhood training classes required OR must be willing to enroll in courses

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
