Employee Relations Assistant (Effective 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR)
Provides assistance to the Director of Employee Relations (Chief Negotiator/Labor Relations Director) through the application of knowledge in matters related to employee grievances, negotiation activities and labor relations matters. Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding sensitive employee and District matters.
Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies or related field,
AND three years of related business experience
Five years progressive experience in complex secretarial/administrative work in Labor Relations, Personnel/HR and/or Legal office.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
Knowledge and ability to use word processing, database and spreadsheet programs, standard and specialized software, and internet research.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education.
One year experience in human resources, bargaining/negotiations, contract interpretation or employee dispute procedures.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check (at employee’s expense).
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Must hold a current driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance coverage greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.

Work Calendar: 12 month
