Job Description

SUMMARY

Monitors Individual Education Plan (IEP) paperwork for placement options of Special Education students throughout the district. Works closely with student case managers, school psychologists, related service providers and assistant directors. Ensures IDEA legal documents are submitted and comply with state and federal requirements. Maintains databases that help determine authorization for exceptional education funding. Acts as a resource for district staff regarding exceptional education compliance issues.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Associate’s Degree in Social Services, Education, or a related field and one year of experience in general office procedures OR three years of experience in a general office setting.

Strong computer skills required, to include Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, etc.) or similar database management, word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

Demonstrated knowledge of effective problem solving skills and working in a team environment.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task.

Basic math skills.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Experience working in or knowledge of Special Education and/or Special Ed laws, rules or compliances.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

FBI fingerprint background check.

Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Effective: 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR
Location: Exceptional Education Department - Sites vary
Classification: White Collar

FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
