Job Description

SUMMARY
This position with the Direct Link Program incudes travel to students' homes, providing instruction on Zoom and at school sites to effectively manage the learning environment for students with moderate to severe disabilities. Responsible for the preparation of lesson plans, instructig students, evaluating and monitoring students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity while working collaboratively with a team to plan instruction and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Arizona Standard Professional Moderate/Severe Disability Certificate, K-12

OR

Arizona Special Education Certificate K-12 - Mild-Moderate WITH Moderate/Severe Disabilities Endorsement, PreK-12

OR

Arizona Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle Grades OR Secondary Certificate WITH Moderate/Severe Disabilities Endorsement, PreK-12

Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Valid Driver's license (Arizona Driver’s License required within 30 days of hire)
MVReport – showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees

LOCATION: Exceptional Education Department
FTE : 1.0 - 7.5 hours per day
Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

New Teachers to the District may be eligible for a one-time recruitment stipend (up to $5,000) if hired into one of the following positions: Ex Ed, Math, Science.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
