Job Description

SUMMARY

Maintains and repairs the District’s Energy Management and Control System, and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment; performs quality assurance inspections and Energy Management and Controls Systems programming for Facilities Management to insure compliance with contract documents and building codes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Seven years experience repairing refrigeration units operated by Energy Management Controls Systems;

OR

Four years experience as a HVAC/Refrigeration Technician on equipment operated by Energy Management Control System AND

Completion of a recognized training or apprenticeship program in the field;

OR

Associates degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, or related engineering field AND

Four years of experience in the analysis and trouble shooting of heating, ventilation, lighting, and building systems with Energy Management Controls for energy efficiency.

Knowledge of: digital, electric and pneumatic controls; heating, cooling, and air-conditioning systems; engineering and construction techniques; co-generation; thermal storage, and computer controlled energy management systems.

Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

FBI fingerprint background check.

Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Post-offer/pre-employment lift test.

Valid Arizona Driver’s license and MVReport – showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.

FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
