Job Description

SUMMARY
Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct student, evaluate and monitor students' performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.


These are positions for TUSD employees to provide academic support to qualified students attending private schools.
Hours, dates and locations of employment will vary depending upon private schools’ needs and locations. Days and hours will be adjusted to meet private school schedules. Staff may be matched or assigned to more than one site.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Appropriate Arizona Teaching Certificate
Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Certain endorsement/approved areas(s) may be required for highly qualified/appropriately certified purposes.

For Elementary and Middle Grades, K-8 certification. For High School, content level certification applies.
Staff may be matched or assigned to more than one site.
Accountability and employment is to Tucson Unified School District – Grants & Federal Programs/Title I.
REPORTS TO: Grants & Accountability Department

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Tutors regularly pick up and deliver materials and students to and from classrooms. As such, good mobility and ability to carry and lift 20 pounds is required.
Highly Qualified Math Teacher, or Reading Endorsement are preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS UPON HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Effective: 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

Location: Grants & Federal Programs - Broadway & Euclid Area

These are temporary hourly positions. All positions end on June 30, 2026
Location: Various Private Schools in the Tucson Area
Work Calendar: 12 month

Several Positions Available

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
