Program Coordinator - Athletics/Head Coach (Effective 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR)
This position will advise, coordinate, and supervise High School athletic programs, as well as be the Head Coach for High School sports teams. As the Athletics Coordinator, this position is responsible for all campus athletics programs meeting the goals and objectives of Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) to provide students the opportunity to participate and excel in the athletic program of their choice. As a Head Coach for High School sports this position is responsible for performing all duties regarding recruiting players, organizing, practicing, maintaining the playing field and practice facilities, scheduling, and developing student athletes.
National Federation of High School Sports Certification
Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) Certification or a recognized equivalent out of state certification and ability to obtain AIA Certification within 1 year
Current CPR w/AED Certificate
Current First Aid Certificate
Prior coaching experience at the high school level.
Experience developing, organizing or maintaining athletic programs required
Knowledge of AIA rules and regulations.
Verbal and written communication skills
Master’s Degree in Education Administration of a related field
Experience in public speaking
Experience developing student specific interventions, fund raising, and facilitating performing arts programs.
Experience and knowledge of student athletics to include NHSS.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Valid Driver’s License
MVReport – showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees

Classification: Exempt Coordinator – Grade: 1
FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
