Job Description


The School Nurse is a professional Registered Nurse who serves as the leader in the school community to oversee the school health policies and programs. Enhances the educational process by the modifying or removing health related barriers to learning and by advocating and promoting an optimal level of wellness for all students. Establishes and maintains a comprehensive school health program in association with Licensed Practical Nurse and Health Assistant.

Associate's Degree in Nursing
Current R.N. license or certification issued by the Arizona Board of Nursing
Clinical nursing practice experience
Valid Driver’s License
MVReport – showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
School nurse, pediatric, family medicine or similar experience

FBI fingerprint background check
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
Must release Social Security Number to be eligible for the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) Provider ID Number

CPR card and First Aid Certification - Certification must be maintained current during course of employment


Effective: 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR
Location: Health Services - Multiple Sites - District Wide
FTE: 1.0 – 7.5 hours per day

Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language. For more information on salary schedule, please reference the Employee Agreements Webpage.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
