Job Description

SUMMARY

Performs the full range of repairs and maintenance duties associated with light, medium, and heavy vehicles, and equipment under direct supervision of a district facilities employee.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be currently enrolled as a junior or senior at a Tucson Unified School District high school.

Must be at least 16 years old.

Must currently hold a C grade average and maintain throughout employment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization

Post-offer / pre-employment physical examination and 75 lbs. lift test.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

THE LIST OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS IS NOT EXHAUSTIVE AND MAY BE SUPPLEMENTED.

Assists in troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing non-diesel- or diesel-powered vehicles or equipment. This includes vehicle components such as brakes, transmissions, tires, engines, and vehicle systems such as electrical, air and cooling systems.

Assist with determining method of repair and materials needed, within established expenditure limits and industry guidelines.

Assists with performing safety and service inspection of vehicles or equipment. Ensures unsafe vehicles or equipment are not released for use.

Assists with preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.

Assists with air conditioning testing and repairs.

Finalizes work order forms to include time and materials used for each repair. Initiates time tickets, verifying labor hours spent making adjustments and/or repairs.

Location: Transportation- Broadway & Kino Parkway Area

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
