This position is funded through the ESSER grant. The position will end when grant funding expires. The grant is expected to last for 3 years.

SUMMARY
An RTI teacher contributes to the academic success of targeted students. Works extensively to help improve reading and math skills. Conducts assessments to identify students eligible for intervention services. Diagnoses and progresses the monitoring of strengths and weaknesses. Matches skills with evidence-based instructional strategies, techniques, and resources. Teaches small groups of striving readers and mathematicians. Models evidence-based instructional strategies and collaborates frequently with classroom teachers. Serves as an integral part of a problem-solving team at the building level.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Standard Professional PreK-12 Art Education Certificate, OR

Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8

WITH Art, PreK-12 endorsement

OR Art Approved Area

Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Experience with one or more of the arts disciplines (music, drama, dance, visual arts)

Experience with integration of the art form(s) with tested curricular subjects.

Knowledge of the Arizona State Standards for the Arts

Knowledge of the National Arts Standards, current brain-based learning research, and multiple/alternative assessment methods.

Collaborate with school staff to integrate the arts with the core curriculum while facilitating creative problem solving and critical thinking.

Meet regularly with Classroom Teachers, by grade level, to design lessons, assess the success of these lessons, and refine arts integration.

Meet quarterly with Teaching Artists and Classroom Teachers, by grade level, to coordinate lessons with a pacing calendar.

Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students


Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

FTE: 1.00 - 7.50 hours per day

Work Calendar: 9.5 months

  • 3rd Grade
  • 4th Grade
  • 5th Grade

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
