SUMMARY
Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans in Spanish and/or English, instruct students in Spanish and/or English, evaluate and monitor students' performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8 with Spanish Bilingual Endorsement (Spanish approved area also required if teaching Spanish) and Provisional or Permanent Gifted Endorsement or willingness to pursue during the 2025-2026 school year OR Arizona Early Childhood Certificate, Birth to Age-8 with Spanish Bilingual Endorsement (Spanish approved area also required if teaching Spanish) and Provisional or Permanent Gifted Endorsement or willingness to pursue during the 2025-2026 school year

Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

COMMENTS

Effective: 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

LOCATION: Hollinger K-8 School - Ajo & 6th Ave Area

FTE : 1.0 - 7.5 hours per day

Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Grade Levels currently available:

  • 2nd Grade

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

DUAL LANGUAGE INCENTIVE 2025-2026 SY
Tucson Unified School District will pay a Dual-Language Recruitment and Retention Incentive Stipend of $5000 that will be available to new-to-the-District incoming certified teachers and to certified teachers who currently work for the District that meet the following criteria:
· The teacher must work for the District full-time in a dual-language classroom
· The teacher must have a Teaching Certificate with Spanish bilingual endorsement from the Arizona Department of Education
The stipend will be prorated based on the FTE of the coursework and/or hire date. Qualified recipients who are working for the District at the end of the Fall Semester will receive $2500 in December 2025. Qualified recipients who are working for the District at the completion of their 2025-2026 contract will receive $2500 in May 2026.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
